Campus Life at DUT
DUT is located near the mountains and the sea, with excellent conditions. It has formed a school pattern of one university, two places (Dalian City, Panjin City), and three districts (Dalian Ling Shui main campus, Development Zone campus, Panjin campus), covering a total area of 3,571,300 square meters and a construction area of about 1,885,000 square meters.
The university library has a total physical collection of more than 3.73 million books and a total subscription of 268 databases on 96 platforms, including about 1.75 million e-books and 51,000 e-journals in Chinese and foreign languages. The university has 155,000 square meters of sports venues.
The university has a first-class intelligent campus environment, with full coverage of wired and wireless networks on three campuses. A campus card that realizes authentication, payment, and consumption by swiping cards, codes, and face recognizations. It integrates the functions of national public transportation applications, the “Daigong e-station” provides intelligent self-service for teachers and students, and the supercomputing center provides strong support for scientific research. The information construction and application are advanced among domestic universities.
The university has 51 student dormitory buildings, and the dormitories for undergraduates are room for 4 students with standardized facilities and independent bathrooms. There are 11 student cafeterias including halal cafeterias with a floor area of nearly 28,000 square meters and a seating capacity of nearly 8,000, and a variety of flavors to meet the eating habits of students from different regions and nationalities. The campus has a variety of restaurants, such as the International Students’ Restaurant, 1949 Café, and Boyuan Restaurant, to enrich the dining needs of students.
Campus Life at UCI
In addition to providing a world-class education, UCI also brings an exciting, vibrant student life. There are concerts, festivals, movie screenings, comedy nights, and many other special activities throughout the year. Several of the most popular annual campus-wide events include Shocktoberfest and Homecoming. Sierra magazine has named UCI No.1 “Coolest School” in the U.S., with ten consecutive years in the top ten for its innovative sustainable practices. The magazine is the official publication of the Sierra Club, one of the nation’s largest and most influential environmental organizations.
Dance crews. Esports. Greek fraternities and sororities. You can compete, volunteer, and pursue what you enjoy the most, all while make lifelong friends. And if you’re into athletics, you can play an intramural or club sport or earn a roster spot on one of our 18 NCAA Division I athletic teams.
